WELCOME TO THE MAW

Welcome to The Museum of the American West, the only institution to celebrate the diverse peoples who utilized the critical geography of what is now central Wyoming to shape the American frontier.

We are located in beautiful Lander, Wyoming,
on US 287, on the way to
Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks and adjacent to Lander's central
commercial district.

Explore the vivid and unforgettable cultural history of central Wyoming with us, set against backdrop of the magnificent
